Postponing your Wedding due to COVID-19

In Ohio, the mandatory Stay at Home Orders are until April 6th, 2020 to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. As a wedding professional, I am working with all of my brides to find the best course of action to ensure everyone’s safety.

If you think your wedding will be affected by this here is some advice:

 1. Let your vendors know ASAP – Your wedding professionals will be able to offer you some additional guidance in this time. We understand what you are going through and we are in this with you, too!

2. Postpone instead of cancel – Your vendors should be able to give you their availability to secure a date in the future. While everyone’s business is different, what I have been doing is moving the retainer payment to the new date and sending out updated contracts to any bride that has postponed (if I am available). I am not charging any additional fees to do this.

3. Try to secure a Friday or Sunday date if you postpone – If you want the best chance of keeping all your vendors, I HIGHLY recommend moving to a day that is not a Saturday. Most Vendors are already booked for Saturdays in 2020, especially if you are thinking of postponing to the Fall. This will be the least stressful way of going about this, and your flexibility will be much appreciated!

4. Communicate – This is a stressful time for everyone, and thankfully most people will understand. Let your vendors know your questions and concerns, it will give you some peace of mind!

Stay safe, y’all!
